Mythical beasts are creatures which have not been proven to exist , but are so abundant in stories and legends that they cannot be dismissed entirely . The study of these beasts is known as cryptozoology , and the people who study them are cryptozoologists .
The root of the word is easily traced , as many other words are . Cryptozoology can be broken up into two parts - crypto and zoology . Crypto means hidden or secret . Zoology means the study of animals . Joined together , the word cryptozoology basically means "the study of hidden animals" .
Many examples of cryptozoology can be found on websites , in books or newspapers and even in the stories people tell . For the rest of this post , they will be called "cryptids" , a term used to refer to them used by cryptozoologists .

There is believed to be only one of the above cryptids , but there seem to be more than one of these.

Many of these are simply legends , but some believe that they did exist at one time , that they simply became extinct . Since we have no proof of their existence , yet cannot prove their non-existence , whether or not they are real creatures is up to ourselves to decide.
I could have listed any number of cryptids here . But this post could be too long . Before this post ends , I tell you that I firmly believe in the existence of these creatures , only not in our time period , maybe even several worlds back . In the end , this is the only thing I ask you : Are they real ?
I believe in lost places,such as: Atlantis, Shangri-La and The lost garden of Babylon. It depends on each individual's belief.

ReplyDeleteI've always thought that there was more to this world than visible to our eyes . But if you do more research into the cryptids , you'll find that there have been many expeditions to find each of the beasts , but all have yielded unsatisfactory results . Skeptics use this to prove that the cryptids do not exist . But could the researchers simply have been searching in the wrong places?
ReplyDeleteMaybe the creature exist in different dimension which we human cannot see with naked eye. However someone with special vision able to see it. Like wind, we can feel it, it is there, but we can't see it.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe there are just many universes in which many different species live in , but some found rips in space-time and found themselves here . Then they could have brought some friends here from time to time , until the rips closed . I might post more on this later ...

ReplyDeleteMystical creatures are, well, Mystical. A lot of legends and myths have a lot of mystical creatures, which said that they really exist. From what I know, some people really did see some mystical creatures, but scientists says that it was an illusion. Some used physical test to prove that the person who saw these creatures whether they have mental problems. Well, what I want to say is that, there is a big, big world out there, and millions, maybe billions of creatures, hiding beneath the deep seas, hiding among our sights, just waiting for our brave adventurers and scientists to explore them.
